- Special Olympics Festival - Join the Event
Special Olympics PEI would like to invite
you to the annual Special Olympics Festival (SOF) taking place on
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010. The Festival is a two part event which
includes a breakfast held in Summerside and a Gala Dinner and Auction
that same evening in Charlottetown.
By purchasing a table or tickets to either
the Gala Dinner or Breakfast, you will allow Special Olympics PEI
to reach and provide more sporting opportunities to individuals
with intellectual disabilities across PEI.
Sports celebrities Nazem Kadri, Andy O’Brian
and former CFL superstar Mike ‘PinBall’ Clemons will
be joining the event as our celebrity guests. Andy O’Brien
will be attending this year’s SOF as keynote speaker in Summerside.
The Prince Edward Island native has as an outstanding track record
having worked as strength and conditioning trainer with NHL superstar
Sidney Crosby, women’s hockey Olympic gold medalist Hayley
Wickenheiser, and five time Olympic swimmer Dara Torres.
‘Pinball’ Clemons will round
out the night at the SOF Gala Dinner & Auction as the key note
speaker. Pinball is one of Canada’s most recognized athletes
in Canada; he holds the world record for most career all-purpose
yards by a professional football player with 25,396 yards and boasts
three Grey Cup Championships as a player and one as a head coach.
Clemons is an exciting motivational speaker and will cap the night
off at the Gala Dinner in Charlottetown

Gala Dinner & Auction
The dinner and auction in Charlottetown begins
with a reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Delta Prince Edward. Following
the reception will be the dinner and the key note address from Football
Hero, Pinball Clemons The evening will be capped off by the always-enticing
silent and live auction.
With the purchase of a table at the SOF Gala
Dinner, you will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the private
reception from 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. At the private reception,
you will have an opportunity to meet the celebrities in a more intimate
atmosphere and have your picture taken with a celebrity of your
choice, mingle with other prominent business people and enjoy complimentary
drinks.

Summerside Breakfast
The breakfast in Summerside is held at the
Credit Union Place and begins at 7:30 a.m. and finishes promptly
at 8:45 a.m.
