How Do
I? - Become A Volunteer
Currently there are over 150 coaches
and volunteers who run our programs and coach our athletes on a
weekly basis. It is these dedicated individuals who are the backbone
of SOPEI. Without volunteers, athletes would not have the sport
opportunity that they do.
Volunteer positions include, but
are not limited to:
- Weekly sport programs
- Sporting events
- Community council
- Committees
- Event volunteers
These volunteer positions are available
in our:
- Community sport programs

Special Olympics PEI would not exist
today, and could not have been created, without the time, energy,
commitment and enthusiasm of the more than 150 Special Olympics
PEI volunteers. Special Olympics PEI relies on volunteers at all
levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a
quality sports training and competition experience.
Our volunteer pool is dedicated
and diverse. Volunteers include: civic and fraternal groups, high
school and college students, amateur athletes, sports officials,
coaches, teachers, retirees, parents, and corporate employees.
As a Special Olympics PEI volunteer
you will take pride in knowing that you are an important part of
a global movement that provides athletes with intellectual disabilities
an opportunity to experience the excitement, joy and personal fulfillment
associated with sport training and competition.
Volunteer with Special Olympics
PEI and make a difference in the lives of more than 250 athletes,
their families and your community.
